Women for Evanston Youth announce grant recipients

Seventeen of Evanston’s youth-focused community organizations received grants from Women for Evanston Youth in June.

The grants, totaling $40,000, continue WEY’s decades-long philanthropic support of youth- and child-focus facilities and groups in the community. Grant applications were accepted through April; WEY presented the checks to the organizations in June.

Recipients for 2023 are:

Books & Breakfast Cherry Preschool Childcare Network of Evanston-Head Start Curt’s Cafe Evanston School Children’s Clothing Association (ESCCA) ETHS Foundation Evanston 4th of July Association Evanston Grows Evanston Scholars Girl Scouts Girls Play Sports Northlight Theatre Peer Services TED Fund The Harbour Y.O.U. YMCA

For more than a hundred years, WEY has supported a wide range of organizations and programs serving Evanston’s youth. The primary source of WEY’s grant funding comes from Fortnightly Dance Classes which the group, formerly known as the North End Mother’s Club, has sponsored since 1917.
